You never know what you'll find for sale on the street here in Oaxaca. We can do quite a bit of shopping from our car window at a stop light. These are a few of the things we've seen for sale: newspapers, bags of fruit and veggies, gum, candy, inflatable toys, electric fly swatters, furniture...just to name a few.
Today, while Elyse and I were running to the grocery store, we found a man selling these.
Looks like a normal bag of tortillas, huh?
Not quite!
There are 4 of them inside the bag. I'm still not sure what we are going to do with them...maybe it is time for a party?!
Here in Oaxaca, this is called a Tlayuda (large, crunchy tortilla). Usually, they are a little larger than a dinner plate. I think this batch got a little out of control! I'm not even sure it will fit in our oven.
Oh well...
Buen Provecho!
